Bookings, Terms & Conditions and Cancellation Policies

Our secure on-line booking system offers a quick and convenient way to check availability and make your booking.  Remember that direct bookings made by telephone or directly from this website are 10% cheaper than on third party online websites and you get extra benefits.

  • By booking direct with us: it will be 10% cheaper; earlier check in time of 3pm; later check out time of 10.30a.m.; free cancellation up to 7 days before arrival.
  • For third party websites: it will be 10% more expensive; later 4pm check in; earlier 10a.m. check out.

Tariff : We reserve the right to amend our tariff without notice.

Double/Twin Rooms: The prices at ‘Y Garth 5* Gold Boutique B&B’ offer value for money and are based on two people sharing a double/twin bedded room and include Joyce’s renowned award winning breakfasts.

Minimum stay is two nights and minimum of three nights on bank holiday weekends, although this may be varied at our discretion.

Check in for direct bookings  is between 3pm  and 7pm (4pm for third party websites).  Please telephone to let us know if you are delayed so we can ensure we are available for your arrival.  We appreciate our guests leaving by 10.30 (10am for third party bookings).  An earlier check in time of 1pm at the earliest can be arranged (subject to availability) at an additional fee of £20 and by prior arrangement only at the time of booking.  If an earlier check in time than 1pm is required  the previous night should be booked as well.

Deposits and payments:   Reservations can be made directly on line or may be confirmed by telephone or email.  We require debit/credit card details to secure your reservation.  Card details are held against the room.

Breakages and Damages:  Y Garth reserve the right to add an appropriate charge on the guest bill for replacement, cleaning or repair of any item belonging to the house, damaged either wilfully or because reasonable precautions have not been taken.

Adults only : We are sorry but we are unable to take children and for the comfort of our guests we do not accommodate guest pets.

Please note:  Y Garth is a non-smoking establishment.  This includes electronic/vapour e cigarettes too.

During your stay – Our aim is to offer all our guests a relaxing and tranquil stay and we kindly ask guests to respect other guests’ quiet enjoyment and relaxation.  We carry out our daily housekeeping between 11a.m. and 2pm each day and will require access to your room during this time.

Takeaways:   To maintain the very high standard of our bedrooms we do not allow food to be consumed in the bedroom – the dining room is available for your use.

Liability : We do not accept any liability for any damage, loss or injury to any member of your party or any vehicles or possessions, unless proved to be caused by a negligent act by ourselves.

Garden:  We have a small terraced area at the front of the building which is ideal to read the paper or enjoy a drink in the sun.  We do not have a public garden area.

Food:  Evening meals are not available at Y Garth, however, we are spoilt in the area with the number of fantastic restaurants covering all types of food and budget. We are happy to advise on these and book tables.  We would always advise booking especially in the summer months  to avoid disappointment.  Apart from breakfast, no other meals or snacks are available here.

Insurance:  It is your responsibility to ensure that any travel insurance cover you have covers  you should you need to cancel due to ill health.

Lost keys:  On check in you will be given keys which opens the front door and bedroom door.  It is your responsibility to return these keys at the end of your stay on check out.  Failure to do so will be subject to a minimum lost key charge of £20.

Lost property: Any lost property items will be disposed of at the end of the month after your stay.  It is up to you to contact us should you think you may have left something behind.  Should you wish an item to be returned to you, a minimum charge of £10 will be charged to cover postage, packing and administration (usually payable via BACS).  Items posted will be at the cheapest rate.

Wireless Internet Access:  Wireless internet access is provided free of charge throughout the house.


We respectfully remind guests that a reservation constitutes a contract between yourselves and ‘Y Garth’.  As a small business cancellations have a significant impact.  We often have to refuse other booking because the rooms have been reserved by those who subsequently cancel.  We do however, appreciate that unforeseen circumstances can intervene, and we try to be as sympathetic and helpful as possible in such cases. 

More than 7 days notice – no charge (Free cancellation).

Less than 7 days notice – your deposit will not be refunded.  We strongly advise our guests to take out suitable holiday cancellation insurance to cover their stay for any unforeseen circumstances.

Non arrival (no show) for a booking will be treated as a cancellation and the full booking value will be charged, regardless of the reason – you will be advised to claim against your travel insurance.  3pm is classed as check in time for the purposes of cancellations.

Should you need to curtail your stay and leave earlier than planned, the total value of your entire stay will still be due.

We reserve the right to cancel a booking in the event of any cause beyond our reasonable control which prevents us from meeting our obligations in connection with your booking.  In such an event we will refund any payments you have made to us, in full.  Our liability would not extend beyond this refund.
